F.A.N. Discussion Forum > can flouride cause hair loss?

the water district just started adding flouride in the water just 6 months ago and I have noticed since then that I have lost a lot of hair. Just to test if it was the water I didn't shower for two days and my hair loss dropped from 30 strands of hair to about 5. Once I showered again it went back up to 30 strands if not more. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Did you wash your hair in the shower, or just the body?

As I have hair loss from chronic fluoride exposure to teeth materals that release fluoride I cannot tell exactly if just water contact is causing it, but it might very well be. As I was myself afraid to increase the load by bathing I mix Borax in the soap and shampoo when I bath, but do not know if it really works. Apparently Borax is a good fluoride detoxifier. Check on Borax cures online, there is a whole topic about it with a blog www.earthclinic.com.
